I Should Just Put This On Twitter
I just got back from a Food Handler's class. Now I can begin that promising fast food career I always dreamed of...I'll bet I could even start at the same salary I'm currently earning if I got hired at the right place. (Is Taco Cabana more upscale than Mickey D's?) Of course, we don't know yet if I passed the test; but I WAS second in line to turn it in. (I was probably the first one finished, but true-to-Melessa-form, I stood around a bit until someone else walked up there so I could get in line behind them. Some things just don't change...)
On a more excited note, I took Part 2 of a Grant-Writing class earlier today and really felt like I knew what I was doing there too! I guess I like the non-profit world just a little too much to give it up for a position in McDonald's management. Even if I aced that test and could start as a shift leader. And yes, it has occured to me that for this I went to grad school.

Why were you taking a Food Handler's class? I took one when I worked at Hardee's. I'm suppose to have one for the catering work I do, but no one has asked and I just haven't taken the time or coughed up the $5.
Tiffany-We're stepping it up a notch for PTA stuff. No one will ask, but we will feel better about it. It was all done in 45 minutes-all in all it wasn't so bad.
Hey, I almost got to stop by and see you today, but the DR. was running almost 2 hours behind and by the time I was done, it was time to head home. (I'm on call this week, so I had to be back in town around 5) But I saw Lanie today!!! I haven't seen her in person since Mom Neely's wedding!! It was so good to see her and such a chance meeting! I will start seeing a different fertility Dr. soon because I really didn't like the one I saw 2 weeks ago. But we will be up there much more and we will have to have a weekend or something. I'd like to go to the fair this year too. I love going thru all the buildings but I think I'll be able to resist High School Musical on Ice. Besides, I think I've seen enough ice capades and circus' in that building!
ok, I'll admit it, I am all jacked up on Mt. Dew. I'll also admit that I don't understand the Twitter thingy.
Jen-I will be out of town from Sept. 12-16, so try and work around those dates 'kay? I would love to see you! I am very glad you got to see Lanie, though.
Twitter is like a mini-blog. Anytime I have a short blurb I want to post during the day, I login and post it and read the short blurbs that my friends have posted as well. I follow about 50 of my favorite bloggers and most of them follow me as well. Clear as mud? I'll just have to explain it the next time I see you in person. (hint, hint)
I don't Twitter but it seems to be like a public text or IM. I would feel bad but I don't blog either. I just leave my stuff here and act like a leach on Melessa's blog. :o)
P.S. I do think Taco Cabana is much higher class than McD's. I wouldn't worry about passing the test. granted it's been at least 10years since I last took it, but it was all common sense. Then again, you and common sense... lol (just kidding, don't hurt me!)

LOL! I think what you mean by that is practical application in life. Remember, I aced the written driver's test years before I ever passed the driving part. The Food Handler's class was similar-watch the Power Point, regurgitate the info on a multiple choice Scantron grid. Fortunately, they won't ever follow me around a commercial kitchen grading my cleaning, heating, and refrigeration skills so I think I'm good to go.
You should try Twitter sometime. It's like mini-blogging on a shared platform and is less work than a real blog. I think you would like it.

But the WILL follow you around the kitchen...they are called Health Inspectors! Maybe they won't visit Trattoria il PTA, but you never know.

I leach on her blog too, Chris! So far, I'm supposed to have an appt with a "new" fertility dr. on 9/4 @ 9 am. Sorry, couldn't get a friday one. But maybe it'll work out that day.
Anon-They told us yesterday that it could happen and I don't doubt it, but we serve food maybe 2x per year so I'm not too worried about it yet.
Sean is this random dude that one of my friends married. Not sure what she was thinking.

yeah.. that Sean guy is a loser! Fortunately he is feeling much better. I guess I jinxed myself when we were talking about whiney sick husbands and I said that I was lucky with mine. He really wasn't bad but that is the first time he actually wanted me to take care of him... That's how I knew he REALLY wasn't feeling good. lol
Jen.. Yeah! Get a Friday slot! Lanie told me she ran into you.. We have dance class together on Wednesday's and were trying to talk while we were dancing so she could tell me about seeing you.. It didn't really work. It's salsa dancing but it's in a circle sort of like square dancing. I'm going to try and put it on Youtube so my sister can see it, I'll pass on the link so you can check us out.
