Enough Already!

As we enter our 17th straight day of rain here in the Sooner State, I find myself feeling more than a little blue and fed up with it. So, I'm not feeling very chatty today. Chaz, on the other hand, came up with a rather good post about the weather so I'll point you in his direction instead. (Seriously, go read it. There's nothing to see here today.)

Except for this:

(But if you actually clicked on my link, you already saw it-didn't ya?!)

I was okay with the rain until mushrooms started sprouting in my little garden...

That Jon Stewart clip is AWESOME! I wish we had a weatherman like Gary England around here. You can't beat him!

practical chick-I've been okay with it too, but today I've finally had E-NUF!

Christy-I missed him so much when I lived in Tucson. Not that he would have had much to do as a weatherman there.

OMG! I miss Oklahoma and the dang weather guys, especially Gary England and Rick Mitchell!

It used to drive me nuts the way Oklahoma TV would interrupt any show at all to let you know when it was raining somewhere...it didn't have to be serious, but they'd darn tootin' let you know it was raining in Okemah!

Funny, how I miss that sort of thing now.

Oh my god that is the funniest thing EVER.

Thank you for posting it. I don't watch channel nine often enough to have seen that commercial and Jon Stewarts take on it was hilarious.

LOL at that clip!! Both the Gary England commercial and Jon Stewart! We get Tulsa's Travis Meyer, our version of Gary England. Anyway, Meyer was on channel 8 then moved over to channel 6, which left channel 8 scrambling to keep viewers because the other guy they have just wasn't as popular. Last year I emailed all the Tulsa channels to complain because Latimer County tends to get left out a lot in their coverage. I was hot too because we'd just had a tornado that all 3 stations totally ignored until the 10 o'clock broadcast. A couple of days after I sent the emails, I was shocked to hear parts of my very angry email turned into a promo for the replacement guy. I was so mad because they made it sound like I was thanking them for their excellent coverage and totally left out the bitchy parts!! Then at the end of the commercial they added "keep up the good work" to add insult to injury. And no, they don't cover us any better either.

LOL!! I saw that comercial last week and thought "How stupid is that!" If you don't already watch Gary I don't think that extremtly dramatic commercial will change your mind. I don't care if I watch Gary or Rick Mitchell, I just don't like Mike Morgan from channel 4. It just feels wrong somehow. His forecasts are usually very different from the other 2.

Scotty-I forgot about "Rick said it would." And one of my "you know you're an Okie when..." would definitely be that you only seek shelter in bad weather when Gary or Rick tell you to.

sleeping mommy-I've never seen the actual commercial either, but Gary England AND Jon Stewart in the same clip? I'm all about that!

Jen-That would tick me off too!

Chris-I've never seen the commercial, just Jon Stewart's take on it. Much more fun!

I love me some Jon Stewart. Too bad I don't have cable and I can't actually watch his show.

Mom just returned from visiting her oldest sister, who is dying, and she experienced that very same rain in Ft. Smith. Someone told her that the entire town of Henrietta had to be evacuated because it flooded, but she couldn't find any corroborating evidence. She said two girls talked in church last week about their experiences at Camp the week before, and both talked a lot about the fact that it rained constantly. I hope we get just a fraction of that up at our Camp this week.
